This organic oolong is produced in the Big Water Cave area of the Wuyi mountains in Fujian Province, China. It is grown from a hybrid of Shui Hsien and Dwarf Oolong cultivars. Because of the rocky and mountainous terrain, teas from this area are sometimes known as “rock oolongs.”
A method of repeated and prolonged charcoal roasting, combined with the unique terroir help give this tea a beautiful deep flavor. This Wuyi oolong tea has a honey-like aroma and brews with notes of stone fruit and a subtle minerality. Enjoy for multiple steepings or one long brew, as the leaf does not easily get bitter.
